Going Back Up
Climb back up the folder tree, then jump straight home.
You have been dropped three folders deep, inside notes/school. Run pwd to see it.
.. always means "the folder above this one", so cd .. walks back up one step. It works from anywhere, because every folder has a folder above it.
The ~ (tilde) is a shortcut for your home folder, no matter how deep you have wandered. cd ~ (or just cd on its own) teleports you straight there in one move.
